La Manga claimed a comfortable victory over Madrid United on Sunday to keep the pressure on at the top of the ECCL Division One league table.

Winning the toss La Manga decided to bat first and their fans were rewarded with a strong batting performance from the home side. Opener David Williams scored a cultured 57 and he was well supported throughout by his team mates to set a total of 257 for victory for the visitors from Madrid.

For the visitors there were good spells of economical bowling from “Jimmy” Ashraf and Mubeen who took three and two wickets respectively.

In reply, the Madrid batting crumbled under pressure from the tight bowling on offer from La Manga and they only just managed to get their score into three figures. For La Manga Munib, Akash and Farhat all bowled excellently to pick up nine of the United wickets between them.

La Manga took 19 points from the game whilst Madrid United scored 6 points.
