La Manga II edged past Torrevieja in a fiesty encounter at the Murcia based ground in the latest league clash between the two sides. However, La Manga II were deducted another ten points for the scond week in succession by the ECCL directorate for fielding an ineligible player.
La Manga II batted first and struggled from the first ball. Losing quick wickets at regular intervals only three La Manga players managed to get into double figures as the home side were bowled out for 100 runs. M Hasan and Pritchard did the majority of the damage with four and three wickets respectively.
In reply, Torrevieja lost one of their openers early on but Adam Algar and Lee Blann looked to be playing the visitors to victory. However, once they were both out the Torry batting line-up collasped with the last seven wickets yielding only 14 runs with the bat La Manga crept over the line with 15 runs to spare.
As a result of the penalisation La Manga got 14 points from the game and Torrevieja netted 6 points.
