La Manga II beat rivals Torrevieja in this weekends top of the table clash but their win was tempered by the fact that after the game they were deducted ten points by the ECCL committee for fielding an ineligible player.
La Manga batted first and posted a total of 161 all out despite only three players reaching double figures. Vikash Singh top scored with 52 and he was well supported in a fourth wicket partnership by Gopi Singh, who fell one shy of his half century. For Torrevieja, skipper Lee Brown and Ullah were the pick of the Torrevieja bowlers taking three wickets each.
The usually reliable batting of the home side had a off day and struggled to find a answer to the spin bowling of Akash Panchal as they were bowled out for just 49 runs. Panchal ended up with four wickets as the vistors won the match by 112 runs.
After the ten point deduction La Manga ended with 14 points and Torrevieja with 5 points. Both teams meet again next weekend at La Manga with the title race still wide open.
