League leader Alcorcon stuttered at La Manga last weekend when they were outplayed by the local side who went on to post a conclusive 130 run victory.
Batting first the home team posted a challenging score of 237 for 8 after deciding to bat first. Atif Ali and newcomer Elliot Banks were both just shy of half centuries as most of the home sides batsmen chipped in with runs along the line somewhere.
For Alcorcon Mudassar was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three wickets for just 24 runs. The all rounder also made a major contribution with Alcorcon with the bat, top scoring with 34 in a sub par response from the visitors that saw them all out for just 107.
Sajid Ali was the scourge of the Alcorcon batting taking five wickets for just 22 runs. This win gives La Manga their first victory of the season, and will bolster their confidence for next week’s encounter with arch rivals La Manga. Alcorcon remain top of the table put have played several games more than most of their counterparts.
La Manga took 19 points from the game and Alcorcon just 5 points.
