Recently Juniors from the Institue Rubio I Ors of Hospitalet de Llobregat started learning cricket for the first time. Under the supervision of Sandra Alarcón and coach Nadim Aseq twelve boys and nine girls from the ages of 14 to 17 took part in some basic cricket skills at Montjuic in Barcelona.
Sandra Alarcón coordinator of the Project El Criquet Uneix was the motivation for the group to come forward and participate in the sport. During the first training session the youngsters were informed of the basic rules of cricket and they tried out practical sessions on batting, bowling and fielding.
Coach Nadim said “It was great to have a few energetic boys and girls who are eager to learn and improve on their cricket skills” More sessions are planned in the near future with new participants expected to join the group in the near future.
