On the first Saturday in November the Woodbridge Oval in Alfas Del Pi will play host to a friendly match between a Cataluyna XI and a Southern Spanish Select XI. The brainchild of Neil Brook, the Director of Spanish Cricket the game is a showcase for the cream of junior players from all parts of the country.
There is no age limit to participate in the match but players must have been part of the Spanish development set up and played the majority of their cricket in Spain.
Players from a far a field as Lanzarote will represent the Southern Spanish select whilst the Catalan XI will compose of players from various teams that played in this years successful Cataluyna Junior league.
Three dignatories from Essex cricket club will also be at the match as they are coming on a fact finding mission to assess and advise the Spanish youngsters on all aspects of cricket. They will also visit La Manga the following day as prt of their trip.
