JUNIOR CRICKET LEAGUE UP AND RUNNING IN CATALUYNA

Catalonia Cricket Association starts the junior cricket league, much awaited by the junior teams since last year the played the junior cricket tournament.

The Catalan Association took the initiatives to start the first junior cricket league in Catalonia, started on 2^nd of June in Barcelona with the participation of  7 junior teams and about 140 junior between 12 years to 19 years participating.

 The junior league will be played at Barcelona, at the Baseball stadium, which started on 2^nd of June and the final match will be played on September 9.

The youngsters of Catalonia Cricket Club, the current champions Barcelona City Cup 2011, get the first win of the season after beating Santa Coloma B Cricket Club in a great game that was reflected the quality of Catalan players mostly from the south-Asian origin.

.An excellent initiative is already bearing fruit, new juniors teams like Barcelona CC, Sant Andreu CC, and Barcelona Eagles CC are preparing to participate in the Barcelona City Cup II, to be held next September, at the time the Great Feast of the city.

The Barcelona City Cup I was held for the first time last year organized by the Catalan Cricket association, which had the support of Barcelona City Council and the Secretariat d’Esports of the Government of Catalunya, since there are many seniors clubs are forming their junior teams as well. The youths with a bright future and show their enthusiasm in the cricket sport and more initiatives are being taken by the Catalan cricket association to promote the junior cricket.

In fact also happening that  these junior  teams can count among its players with kids native Catalan very soon,  as many schools have shown great interest in students to practice this sport,  every evening  the youngster are playing cricket the parks of cities and towns throughout Catalonia, not only Asians but with the local Catalane kids as well.

The Cataluyna Cricket Association today confirmed the Junior League fixtures.

Kicking off in the first week of June Cataluyna CC overcame Santa Coloma.The youngsters of Catalonia Cricket Club, also the current champions Barcelona City Cup 2011, got the first win of the season after beating Santa Coloma Cricket Club in a great game that reflected the quality of Catalan youngsters most of whom are from South-Asian origin.

Also competing in the competition are Santa Coloma B, Warriors CC, Fondo CC, Girona CC and Poble Sec CC, ensuring an healthy influx of young cricketers from Girona
