Intellectuals C.C. vs. Javea C.C. 30June 2007
Not unexpectedly, a depleted Intellectuals team was unable to compete with the Javea side and suffered an eight wicket defeat. Batting first, the Intellectuals lost wickets at regular intervals and it was only thanks to the last two wickets adding thirty-seven runs that the final score reached 113.
The only consolation for the Intellectuals was that the score was the highest that the Club had achieved in the league this season. For Javea, Curness claimed 3-26, whilst Braithwaite and Nix both bowled economically as they dismissed their opponents in the twenty-ninth over.
Curness and M.P. Matthews set their team on the road to a comfortable victory as they added sixty-four for the first wicket. Javea secured the maximum points for the game, running out winners in the sixteenth over with Curness (32) being its top scorer
