Javea C.C. romped to a ten wickets victory over the Intellectuals C.C. and in the process established itself a league leaders and, with one further match to be played, favorites to claim the top spot in the Northern league.
The Intellectuals batting weakness was once again exposed as the team failed to bat for its allotted forty overs and it was only due to Khan (31) and Horne (29) that the final total reached a modest 121. The most successful bowler for Javea was Curness, who claimed 3-29.
The outcome of the match was never in doubt and it only remained to be seen if Javea could claim maximum points from the match by not losing more than three wickets. This was achieved comfortably as its opening pair of M.P. Matthews (58) and Curness (47) were both undefeated.
