Venue Woodbridge Oval, Albir.

Date 15th November 2014 Result

ICC 195 for 6 beat SACC 148 for 4 by 47 runs

On a lovely mid-November day the Spencer Dawes Cup was won by a very competitive Intellectuals side. Winning the toss the ICC skipper opted to bat and despite the early loss of Tanveer (out for a duck in the first over)

Waseem (24) and skipper Richards (82) then consolidated the innings and moved the score along at a steady pace before Yasser came in and knocked off a rapid 57 including five sixes. Roper proved the best of the Alfas bowlers taking 2 wickets for 22 off his six overs.

In reply Alfas were soon on the back foot also losing an early wicket. But with the score on 44 for three, Kevin Launden steadied the ship well partnered by Tyler Hogan Brown (11) and then upping the tempo with Kieran (22 not out).

Although scoring a fine 88 not out Kevin and Alfas were always behind the run rate and finished 47 short at the close of the innings.

Man of the Match went to Yasser for his quick fire 57 and impressive bowling figures of 2 for 7 off his allocated six overs.
