IE CC, the latest league club to join the Cricket Espana family, got off to the best possible start with a victory over Triskell Taverners CC in the first game in this years Madrid Regional League.
Batting first the team comprising mainly of business students scored 149 all out in 28.3 overs at the Sonseca ground. Joel Mathew top scored with 32 and Ankit Loya contributed a useful score of 20.
At the interval the game was evenly poised but a strong bowling performance gave IE the spoils. They finally bowled the Taverners out for 76 in the 28th over with Ankit completing a good all round performance by claiming four wickets for just 17 runs. Siddant Agarwal with three wickets for five and Rami with 2 for 9 also had notable contributions with the bal.
The Madrid Regional League has five teams participating this year with Madrid II, Madrid United II and Sonseca getting in on the action later this month.
