GYMKHANA TOO STRONG FOR CITY LIONS

Cataluyna Gymkhana got their season back on track by beating the previously unbeaten City Lions of Gerona by 49 runs.

ymkhana batted first and managed 150 for 7 from their over allocation. Sohail with 37 and Sahait with 32 not out were the cornerstone of the Cataluyna innings but going into the break City Lions mst have been confident of chasing down the total.

However, Lions started badly losing the early wickets of Farooq and Nasser. Opener Aamir looked threatening, scoring 20 from just 17 balls but when he went the middle order and tail failed to perform and were finally all out for just 101 runs.

Four of the five bowlers used by Gymkhana took at least two wickets each in a great team effort in the field. Gymkhana’s first win of the season puts them mid-table but back in contention as they have only played two games to date. Girona United remain the team to beat in Cataluyna Division A, having played three matches and won three.
