Girona United followed up their success in the La Manga Charity Classic a few weeks ago with a comprehensive 44 run victory over Olot Tigers in Game Nine of this years Cataluyna League cpmpetition.
Batting first United only made 154 all out from just 21 of their allocated overs to give the Tigers a real chance of winning the game at the half way stage.
Basharat Mirza top scored with 38 and several of his team mates had solid starts only to get out at crucial times. For the Tigers Lakwinder and Syed Sajad had the best bowling figures with 3-32 and 2-18 respectively.
Tigers in reply lost early wickets and struggled against the dangerous and economical bowling attack of Girona. They were finally all out for just 110. Basharat Mirza was again the main problem for Olot has he bagged himself four wickets for just 21 runs in his five over spell.
United are now top of the Cataluyna League A having played two and won two. Cataluyna, City Lions and Gracia also have 100% records with a win apiece and Cataluyna Gymkhana still have to start their league campaign this year.
Girona United 154 all out beat Olot Tigers 110 all out by 44 runs.
