The latest game in the Cataluyna league went the way of Girona United CC as they easily completed victory over Paradise CC to the tune of 130 runs.
Batting first United amassed an amazing score of 258 for 6 from their 25 overs. Tahir Sajid top scored with 82 and their were also major contributions from Nisar Shahzad (48) and Basharat Mirza (39). All the Paradise CC bowlers suffered to a degree, but Harvinder and Manjinder Singh both picked up two wickets each.
With such a daunting score to chase down, risks were taken from the off and it resulted in the loss of regular wickets. Paradise eventually ended the day on 128 all out in 19 overs. Basharat Mirza completed an excellent day for him personally by taking four wickets for the loss of just 21 runs.
The large deficit in scores between the two clubs mean Girona United CC have jumped to the top of Cataluyna League A at this early stage of the season.
