Match three of the Cataluyna Junior League resulted in a victory for Friends XI. Batting first the Friends XI made 118 for 9 with Missam hitting 38 runs for his team. He was well supported by his team mate Tanzeer who hit 28 off just 25 balls. For Cataluyna the stand out bowler was Ahmed who took three wickets for 19 runs from his four overs.
In reply, Cataluyna came agonizingly close to chasing down the total, finally losing out by just five runs, despite having wickets in hand. Opener Ahmed looked to be taking his side to victory with a well crafted 40 but when he fell off the bowling of Awon Cataluyna lost their momentum and shape and had to settle for second prize. Hamza and Nabeel both took a couple of wickets for Friends XI.
Friends XI now top the table with two wins from two, whilst Cataluyna are still awaiting their first win of the season.
