Five teams are competing in this years Lanzarote league that got up and running last month
First game of the season pitched St George against the Dragons. The Dragons batted first and scored 144 largely due to a fine half century from Tom Foster.
He was ably supported by Burgess (29) and they put on seventy-eight for the third wicket partnership after losing both openers very cheaply. All the visiting bowlers chipped in with wickets in what was a very competent bowling performance
St George came out on fire in reply and a third wicket unbeaten 128 run partnership by Des Smith And Stock gave the visitors the ten points and a top of the table berth. Smith ended the innings 76 not out and Stock remained unbeaten in the thirties.
Next up for Georges are Lanzarote,the two favourites on paper to win this years league, whilst the Dragons play the Junior tam on the island Puerto Del Carmen Cobras.
