THE FISHERMANS INN REEL IN LANZAROTE YOUNGSTERS
The Colts of Lanzarote put in a spirited performance when going down fighting by 187 runs to the strong Fishermans Inn. The mariners won the toss and elected to bat. Forceful contributions by Darren Spur (79) and Ryan Howarth (77) ensured the home side amassed an imposing total. Their final total of 310 for 7 off 30 overs could have been even more probmatic for the Colts if it wasn´t for the exceptional bowling figures of young Runal, aged 12, who posted figures of 2 for 19.
In reply, the Colts struggled to cope with the bowling of Howarth but with Ian Jackson batting stubbornly for a fine 51 the youngsters ensured they left the field of play with their heads held high. They were finally all out for 123 off 23 of their allocated 30 overs, as the Fisherman`s claimed maximum points for the third consecutive time this season.
