FIRST EVER JUNIOR FESTIVAL A GREAT SUCCESS
Sunday the 29th June saw the first annual Junior Festival at La Manga Club. The day was co-ordinated by the Junior Director of Cricket, Neil Brook and the kids got to try their hand at various skill centres to help improve their batting, bowling and fielding techniques. The skill centres were run in accordance with the kwik cricket principles and were supervised by Level 1 coaches.
The Juniors also got the chance to have a go at the Flix one minute challenge and in the afternoon there were three mini matches between teams categorised by age groups. Cricket Espana also provided all the registered Juniors (47 of them) with T-shirts and a local bar laid on a finger buffet at lunch for everyone involved.
The day was capped off with a successful raffle and the presentation of certificates for all participants by Neil Brook and Cricket Espana Chairman Phil Beal. Plans are already underway to make this an annual event and many new contacts were made with teachers and parents alike as Cricket Espana continues to work hard to forge links with schools and the local community.
