PRESIDENTS XI V ST GEORGE CC
The Presidents game yesterday turned out to be another thriller with 500 runs being scored over 70 overs.
St Georges won the toss and elected to have a bowl. They got off to a great start with a couple of early wickets reducing the LCA to 2-2. M.Tahiliani (128) and M.Evans (47) steadied the ship with the next fall at 115 in the 21st over.
Cameos from B.Mankani (14), P.Hirst (13) and G.Cooper (28) left the LCA with a total of 240-7 from their allotted overs.
In reply St Georges started well with M.McDermott (113) and D.Smith (7) with an opening stand of 53 before Smith was caught in the 9th over. R.Rollins (3) struggled to get going bringing A.French (76*) to the crease.
McDermott was caught at long off in the 28th over with the score at 184-3 and S.Elsdon (12*) contributed with the winning runs hit with only 3 balls to spare.
It was lovely to see both old and new faces attending and a good day was had by all!
