The eagerly anticipated match up between Girona Warriors and Girona United was a one sided affair that the Warriors won easily by 92 runs.
Batting first they posted the challenging score of 159 for 8 from their 25 overs. Opener Kuldeep top scored with 47 but another six of his team mates also reached double figures plus to test the United batsmen in their reply. Sunny and Tariq took three wickets a piece for the fielding side.
United’s innings never really got going and in comparison, only Bikram (25) managed double figures for his team. The next highest score was extras with 16, which higlights United’s poor performance with the bat.
The win for the Warriors mean’t a first defeat in four league games for Girona United and throws the Cataluyna Primera Division A wide open with several teams vying for top spot.
