Torrevieja got back to winning ways with a comfortable 33 run victory in their home encounter with Sporting Alfas II last weekend.
Winning the toss, the home side elected to bat and posted a score of 120 for 6 from their over allocation. Chris Darwen top scored with 34 not out and there was support from openern Kieron Wood who hit 25.
For Alfas Basharat Ali was the pick of the bowlers, ending with figures of 3-11 from his ten over spell that included five maidens.
Unfortunately for Alfas their batting performance was sub par and they were skittled out for just 87 runs in the 34th over. Their total would have been even worse if it had not been for a resillient effort from their skipper Mark Perman, who ended 29 not out when coming into bat at number ten.
Opening bowler Cieran Gulchard put in a tidy performance for Torrevieja and ended with figures for 4-21, whilst Hassan Ullah also chipped in with three wickets for the cost of just ten runs.
The home side took 24 points from the game whilst Alfas II took four points.
