TENERIFE CRICKET CLUB LOOKING FOR TOURING TEAMS

Cricket has been played on the island of Tenerife since the early 1970s and at its peak there were 5 teams playing on the Canarian island. In the early days, the game was concentrated in the more industrial north of the island, later to be concentrated in the south as it gathered pace as a tourist and ex-patriot destination.

Nowadays training takes place at Fanabe village and matches are held at Armenime or Adeje stadia. Each location is a short distance away from the tourist hotspots and Tenerife South airport.

After a decline in fortunes, Tenerife cricket, under the guise of the Howzat CC, has seen something of a recent resurgence.

With squad numbers on the increase, the club is seeking to expand both its playing strength and fixture list. To this end, the club welcomes touring teams to South Tenerife in what is a year round perfect climate for cricket. Equally, if you are living or staying in Tenerife and fancy a game or just want to take part in some way, why not get in touch.
