Menorca’s first trip to Tenerife ended in honours even as both teams split the two match series with one win each.
Match one saw the visitors bat first and reach a total of 187 runs for eight wickets from their 25 overs. Tenerife’s run chase looked to be going well with plenty of overs in hand, but the frequent fall of wickets ensured a nail biting finish. Despite having ten overs to spare the hosts were bowled out for 181, just seven runs shy of victory.
Match two was another close encounter. Menorca posted a challenging total, accrueing 230 runs for the loss of nine wickerts in their 25 over allocation. The visitors batted gamely, but were finally all out for 205 runs with three balls of their innings remaining.
