Madrid entered their second league match of the weekend hoping for a better display than the previous day when they lost out to Madrid United.
Alcorcon won the toss and invited Madrid to bat first. Things looked pretty good for the home side after the early loss of Daniel for one. A half century partnership from Irshad Khan and Adam Langhans pushed the score along nicely but with the total on 71 Langhans was caught off the bowling of Akmal. Continued steady batting by the middle ordered ensured Madrid set at competitive total of 235 for 7 at the lunch interval.
Alcorcon took to their task with ease thanks to a scintillating innings of 167 not out from the Spanish international Tariq Ali. The Madrid bowlers had no answer to his power and prowess as the visitors overtook the Madrid total with seven wickets in hand.
18 points for Alcorcon ensures they keep the pressure on leaders Sporting Alfas whilst Madrid are still searching for their elusive first league victory of the season.
