With their sixth consecutive league title already claimed it was St George who came into the game as hot favourites against the fast improving PDC Cobras
St George batted first and struggled to post a decent score on the board for the first time this season. A resurgent Cobras managed to restrict the league champions to 160 all out. Top score for St George was the evergreen Geoff Dean, who hit 40, whilst for the Cobras Rupom took four wickets for just 22 runs.
At the interval the Cobras were hissing and spitting as they felt a potential upset was on the cards. However, the St George bowlers had other ideas and won the tight game for their team. They kept the runs to a minimum and finally bowled out the Cobras in the 31st over for just 114 runs.
Matty Evans and Jamie Rogerson had a strong third wicket partnership but after they fell the Cobras innings lost momentum and they slithered to a 46 run defeat. Roberto Shard was the pick of the St George bowlers taking three wickets for just 30 runs.
