PDC Cobras stunned St George Cricket Club in the latest Lanzarote league game with a comprehensive eight wicket victory, and in the process took away St. George’s 100% record.
Batting first St George struggled from the off with only three batsmen reaching double figures. Holmes top scored with 20 but it was the Cobras bowling attack that excelled, in particular, Herbert and Matty Evans who took 2-9 and 2-11 respectively. St George were finally all out for 102 and it was advantage Cobras at the half way stage.
Cobras batted sensibly with openers Collins and Evans laying a solid foundation at the top of the innings. However, it was Sachin (46 not out) who saw his team home and gave the chasing pack hope of preventing St George retaining their league title without a fight.
