ST GEORGE THROW THE LANZAROTE LEAGUE WIDE OPEN
St George’s CC throw the Lanzarote league wide open by toppling the league leaders at the Yaiza ground last Sunday. Forty40 cup sem/finalists George were put into bat by Lanzarote and made 211 for the loss of only 3 wickets off their allocated overs. A fantastic 141 not out by the in form Craig Andrews was the difference between the sides as Lanzarote in reply could only manage 184 all out in 29.2 overs.
Joe Hodges was the pick of the George bowlers, ending with figures of 3 for 15 off his six overs. Lanzarote remain at the top of the league but Fisherman’s and St Georges are now breathing down their neck for the top spot.
