ST GEORGE AND FISHERMAN´S TO CONTEST LANZAROTE FINAL
Fishermans Inn and St George will contest the Lanzarote league final after disposing of Lanzarote CC and Commitments CC respectively.
Fisherman´s Inn won a close fought game with Lanzarote by 20 runs. Fisherman´s had a par score of 195 for 5 on the Puerto Del Carmen ground and that was largely due to a fine 57 from Danny Bagley and a supportive 38 from the consistent Ryan Howarth.
It took tight bowling from the Fisherman´s to defend that total and they found it in the shape of Geoff Dean (3 for 23) and John Duffy (3-50) to secure their berth in the final against St George.
The George found things a little more comfortable against a spirited Commitments side. Georges won by a comfortable 88 runs with Craig Andrews putting in a great all round performance. He was one of three of the George players to score 50 or more and he then picked up 3 precious wickets for only 15 runs. David Liebardt contributed 48 to the Commitments cause but it proved to be in vein as George run out easy winners with 8.4 overs to spare.
