An absolute run feast took place at the Woodbridge Oval as Sporting Alfas added another twenty points in their win bank to continue their stranglehold on the top of the ECCL Premier Division.

Put into bat by Valencia Stars the home side opened with the new partnership of Gary Crompton and Wajid Abdul. Crompton survived a difficult chance behind when on one, and then went on to carry his bat through the innings with a fantastic knock of 237 not out. He was well supported by Abdul, who made an equally fine 108, and together they accumulated 339 for the first wicket. This was a record for Alfas, surpassing the previous one of 256 set by Phil Pennick and Mark Spencer against the Nomads in March 2012.

The home side eventually finished their 45 overs on 404 for 2. In reply the Stars batted with aggression and put up a good and honest fight. They were finally all out for 296 with Yasir helping himself to a fine century.

Alfas look strong candidates to retain the ECCL Premier League. However, Pinatar are 98 points behind but have five games in hand and if they won all of them with maximum points they themselves would be two points clear of the Albir based club.

Sporting Alfas (20 points) beat Valencia Star (6 points) by 108 runs.
