Unfortunately for Madrid, games three and four went the same way as games one and two as Sporting Alfas took a clean sweep of all four matches.
Madrid elected to bat first and entered a total of 105 for 9 into the scorebook. Kaul, Nichols and Henley all posted double figures but the top score in the innings by some margin was 43 extras. On the plus side for Alfas Antonio Gomez Brown took three wickets for 21, and Phil Pennick chipped in with two wickets from his four overs.
Sporting Alfas surpassed the total with eight wickets and 31 balls to spare. Hamza Kayani (51) and Tommy Knowles (35) put the game out of doubt with their opening partnership, but both were unable to see it through to the finish, as Knowles was run out and Kayani was bowled by Woodward.
The final match of the four T20 matches saw Alfas bat first and post the biggest total of the weekend, 227 for two off the twenty overs. Spanish international Faran Afzal scored a fine century, whilst Tyler Hogan Brown hit 55.
A hard working, but tiring Madrid scored 68 all out in reply. Mark Nichols was in the runs again but it was the Alfas bowlers that shone, especially Basharat Ali, who took four wickets for 16 runs.
Congratulations go to both teams, Alfas on the four victories, and Madrid for their endeavour in making the long trip in such arduous circumstances.
