Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas 1st X1 280 for 7 beat La Manga C.C. 75 for 10

Todays match, La Manga 1st X1 without many of the side that SACC would normally play against, only 5 of last seasons side playing. Inviting Alfas to set the score La Manga bowlers got of to an excellent start when Packiam fell first ball, Pennick followed shortly after and the score was 8 for 2, Brown after a good last two innings then surrender his wicket so 11 for 3 from 5 eventful overs.

Opener Muñoz was then joined by Spencer and the pair took the score to 110 before Spencer on 51 called for a suicide run and walked back to the hut. Crompton then took away the game spanking the ball to all corners to reach 66 from 11 overs, Muñoz had by this time reached 72 and unluckily pulled a fetlock to join Spencer in the hut, With the bowlers now feeling the intense Albir heat Fletcher played sensibly to take the score past the 250 mark. Roper was bowled and Ward finished unbeaten, 280 for 7.

La Manga never got going and apart from the super show put on by Vikrash Singh who amassed 65 well struck runs before the introduction of Leo Laundon the SACC academy skipper who had him well caught by last year´s academy skipper Antonio Brown in the deep. No other La Manga batsman reached double figures so the game finished after 20 overs with Crompton taking 4 for 9, Spencer 1 for 10, Pennick 2 for 24 and Roper 2 for 27. Leo Laundon taking the prize wicket of the hard hitting Vikrash with his first ball. 75 all out.
