Sonseca carried on from were they left off in the last match to make it three wins out of three in the Madrid Regional League by recording an eight wicket victory against fellow newcomers Triskell Taverners.
The Madrid based side batted first and posted 156 for 7 from their over allocation. Opener Steve Howard top scored with 47 and he was well supported in the middle order by J Churnin (33).
At one stage the Taverners were 93 for 2 but some strong bowling from Sonseca, especially Tassir Khan who took three important wickets, pegged the Taverners total back to their final total.
Sonseca, strong in the batting department showed their class, and knocked off the required total with eight wickets to spare. Openers Irfan and Rizwan put on 63 for their first wicket to give Sonseca the start they were hoping for, and then Imran and Tassir finished off the run chase, ending 18 and 10 not out respectively at the finish.
Sonseca are now level on points with Madrid CC but have played two games left as the league enters the business part of the season. 18 points for Sonseca and 4 points for the Taverners.
