It was runs galore once again at the Valencia Cricket Ground, as Levante and Madrid did not disappoint with another cracking match in the ECCL Premier Division.
With nearly 700 runs scored the day before, onlookers were expecting more runs and they got exactly that at batting record after batting record tumbled on a remarkable day for Levante CC.
Madrid batted first and set a batting record for a game at the VCG by scoring 371 for 7 in their over allocation. Solanki and Wrightson continued their good form from the previous day but it was the former who was the most prolific this time round hitting 169, whilst Wrightson added a further 78. Qasim took a further three wickets to add to the two from the previous day.
Unperturbed by the record breaking total they were facing Levante started positively and put on 175 for the first wicket before Kyle Davies was out for 44. Hunt at three and Nunges at four continued the momentum and added 75 and 37 respectively.
However, the day belonged to Levante founding member Barry Eaton, who opened and scored 152 for his team. This meant that the 151 scored by Rhys Morgan the day before lasted as the individual batting record for Levante for last than 24 hours.
With victory in sight after the great platform set by Eaton, Davies, Hunt and Nunges the Levante players were in no mood to slip up and Qasim (29 not out) and skipper Scott Burchill (10 not out) ensured a remarkable victory for Levante and a tough loss for Madrid. The six wicket vistory give Levante 18 points and Madrid took 7 points.
