The final weekend of the cricket season on the beautiful island of Menorca saw the hosts partake in a triangular tournament with teams from Andorra and Barcelona.
The forty over format started with a contest between Menorca and Andorra. Menorca batted first and scored 204-7 with J Davies top scoring with 78. For the visitors P Lucas took three wickets for the cost of just 29 runs.
Andorra struggled from the off in their innings and were finally bowled out for just 118. P Lucas scored a huge percentage of their runs scoring 87, whilst J Davies was also among the wickets taking four wickets for 22 runs. R Sturgeon also chipped in with three wickets for the hosts.
Day two matched Andorra with Barcelona. Barcelona won the contest comfortably to set up a fitting finale on the last day of the event with Menorca.
Menorca batted first and posted a very impressive 241 for 6 with T Gallagher hitting an unbeaten century. J Davies also weighed in again with 47 runs for the home teams cause.
Barcelona responded will to the run chase and finally chased down the competitive total with six wickets to spare.
A wonderful end to another great season of cricket in Menorca. Fittingly, the club reached out to the community and were delighted to be able to present Club Vidalba who organise sporting activities for children and young adults with a cheque for 724€.
