Madrid Super Stars won the battle over Madrid United last weekend in the local derby that has developed into one of the most intense rivalries in Spanish cricket.
Madrid United batted first and scored 189 all out in their innings. In form all rounder Taqueer Hussain had another good day with the bat scoring 91 of his sides runs. Rana Kashif was the pick of the bowlers for the Stars taking four for forty in his eight over spell.
However, the score proved too little on the small Sonseca ground and the Stars overtook the Madrid United score in the 35th over for the loss of just six wickets. Opener Ali Usman started and finished the Stars innings unbeaten on 75 to give his team the bragging rights for another year in the city.
Madrid Super Stars (20 points) beat Madrid United (6 points) by four wickets.
