Madrid Cricket Club got their first premier league win at the seventh attempt when beating Valencia Stars last weekend.
Batting first Madrid posted the huge total of 306 for 9 from their overs. Australian Adam Langhans top scored with 71 and he was well supported by his skipper Richard Wilson who made 68 and Joe Healey who hit a half century.
Despite the amount of runs scored there were good bowling contributions from Khuzzam who bagged 4-56 and Arshad who bagged 2-45
Valencia Star put up a brave fight and received maximum batting points but were finally all out for 275. Asad (58) Hasan (50) Mohsin (44) and Khuzzam (39) all made telling scores but a fine bowling spell of spin from Joss Bancroft (3-39) helped to give Madrid their 31 run victory, and more importantly, the first team’s first league win of the season.
