Intellectuals won by four runs
The Levante v Intellectuals encounter was a nail biting affair. The Intellectuals used the majority of their Valencia based players for the game and batted first. Wickets fell at frequent intervals and they finally posted a score of 190 all out. Bruno Nunges took five wickets for the home side.
In reply, Levante were in the game and seemed to be in charge as opener Tony Little hit a half century and Jason Noon chipped in with some quality runs, including three fours off one over.
At the start of the last over the hosts needed 13 runs. A four off the first ball raised the noise levels from the home crowd at the VCG. However, Khaliq kept his nerve for the visitors and his next five balls yielded a single, two, another single, a dot ball and another single as Intellectuals ran out winners by the smallest of margins.
