The sole league game last weekend saw Gracia beat La Selva to go to the top of Group Four and leave their opponents still searching for their first win three games into the season.
La Selva batted first and struggled to come to terms with the Angles pitch and the Gracia bowling. Only Rahul showed any resistance for his team, being the only player to reach double figures. He ended up 24 not out in his teams total of 63 all out in just 16 overs.
Happy took three wickets for just eight runs and he was well supported by the other five bowlers who all took at least one wicket apiece.
In reply Gracia made hard work of chasing down the low total but finally got past the required score with four wickets to spare. This was mainly due to the opener Pardeep who was unbeaten on 34 at the end of the game.
Baljit kept La Selva’s hopes alive of an unlikely victory for a short while, with and excellent spell of bowling that yielded four wickets for just 12 runs.
The win for Gracia gives them 30 points and puts them on top of the Group Table, but they have played at least one game more than their closest rivals Pak Barcelona, Olot Tigers and Farners who have 20 points each.
Gracia (10 points) beat La Selva (0 points) by 4 wickets.
