Torrevieja suffered another league defeat yesterday, this time at the hands of local rivals La Manga.
The home side won the toss and elected to field and things looked positive early on as a cluster of wickets fell on a difficult batting track.The four mainline bowlers for Torrevieja all returned with economical bowling figures with the visitors bowled out for just 98 in the 34th over.
A confident Torry went out to chase down the low score but found runs even harder to find than their counterparts. Only two players reached double figures as the home side were bowled out for 62, 36 runs shy of La Manga’s total.
Points tally ended with the La Manga second string taking 16 points, whilst the home side mustered just 6 points.
