Bowlers got the better of the batsmen last weekend as La Manga II beat La Manga Kings in a low scoring encounter at the Murcia resort.
Batting first La Manga II found themselves in a spot of bother at 98 for 7 but a wagging tail nudged their final total up to 145 all out. Hugh James was the main thorn for the La Manga seconds taking 4-34 for the Kings, and he was well supported by young Charlie Hunt, who finished with figures of 2-23.
Kings also found batting difficult and were quickly chasing the game as the low score set by La Manga II got increasingly difficult to surpass. Akash Panchal for La Manga II was proving unplayable and finished with figures of 6-22 and he was well supported by newcomer Abbas who chipped in with 3-19.
Kings were finally all out in the 39th over for 86 to give La Manga II maximum points and a 59 run victory. Next weekend Kings entertain Torrevieja at La Manga. Start time 11am, admission is free and all are welcome.
