Introducing Cricket to Galicia
At SEK Atlántico International School Pontevedra, the students have been learning about cricket and putting their skills into practice.
As a school we put a big emphasis on the English language and its culture; Cricket is a perfect combination of the two.
Therefore, the English teachers with their passion for the game, decided to teach the students the rules and get out on the pitch playing the game. It was a great success and the students had a lot of fun!
We are now hoping to set up a cricket team and play competitive games against other schools.
Many thanks to Matthew Wagstaff for all is hard work in getting cricket started at his school.
Cricket Espana will be sending some cricket equipment to the school shortly so the students can continue to enjoy cricket and promote the sport in Galicia.
