Intellectuals’ Man of the Match: Ric Wasley for his two wickets in the last and his only over and his 9 runs that provided some resistance against the Alicante Star attack, which after a 57 opening partnership between Tim Richards and Shani, saw off the remaining Intellectuals’ batting for 41 runs.
A special mention of Ben and Hodgy returning to the game after an extended absence and making their Intellectuals’ debut on a glorious day for cricket – despite the disappointing result; Dave Keeling’s return to the side and his spell of tight bowling and two not out deserve recognition too. Finally, our thanks also go to the Alicante Stars for helping out with additional players and setting up and putting away the match equipment and in particular for making it a very friendly and enjoyable game of cricket.
