On a very warm day Intellectuals won the toss and elected to bat. A cautious start due to some hostile bowling from young Kieron Perman saw the visitors reduced to 57 for 3 off 19 overs.
Skipper Tom Richards held the innings together with a hard hit 90 not out, although he was dropped twice in the process. The innings finally closed after 45 overs on 191-8.
In reply, a number of Sporting Alfas players got starts but failed to capitalise on their early promise. Abdul kept the home side in the game with a stylish 47 and with the score standing at 111-4 the game was in the balance.
Unfortunately for the home side their remaining batsmen could not reproduce the heroics from their previous match against La Manga and Alfas were finally bowled out for 146 with just 11 balls remaining. Ibsham was the pick of the Intellectual bowlers, bagging 4-38 from 15 overs.
Intellectuals picked up 24 points from the game and Sporting Alfas II 6 points.
