First Kids Cricket Session at Colegio Publico Joaquín Turina, Madrid.
On a warming sunny 4th of March, the kids from 4th, 5th and 6th years of primary from Colegio Publico Joaquin Turina experienced cricket for the 1st time. A 10 minute intro to cricket in the gym quickly moved outdoors where Mike Griggs organised fun fielding and batting drills, followed by continuous cricket matches.
The 90 minutes sessions soon came to an end for the Spanish kids that were dying to keep playing.
Due to popular demand, Madrid CC have agreed to return next Friday, the 11th of March to run a second session.
The PE teachers that took part in the “Coach the Coaches” session last Friday assisted in running the activities and at the end of the day were presented with cricket sets kindly supplied by Cricket España.
