Spanish international Daniel Doyle Calle has made a good start to his career in Holland with Hermes DVS, and this weekend was his most successful to date, as he hit a century on Saturday against Bloemandaal and then added an half century against Quick the following day.
Daniel was rercommended to the Schiedam based club by the Spanish head coach Corey Rutgers and he has settled quickly into life in Holland on and off the field. Hermes currently play in the second tier of Dutch cricket (Hoofklsase) and are making a concerted effort to gain promotion to the Topklasse this season. They currently lie in second place in the ten team league, one place behind Quick who won Sunday’s encounter and remain unbeaten after four games.
Daniel’s exploits caught the eye of the Dutch press and here is a photo of his team mates applauding his century on Saturday. (Photo Hermes DVS) along with an article about his performance in Dutch.
