KAI MANSON’s Unbeaten 78 overcomes ASHAN ALWIS heroic unbeaten 100
Crusaders A was captained by Rob Martin won against Crusaders B which was captained by Egan Steven Dantis by 73 runs at Cartama oval on Sunday 2nd July 2017.
Batting first crusaders A were in action straight away with some attacking cricket by the captain Rob martin (60) and was well supported by nushan Alwis(30), Oshan(51) and Kai Manson scored an unbeaten 78 as Crusaders A cruised to 274-4 off 25 overs. None of the bowlers were spared as every bowler was taken to the cleaners. Jody 1-61 and Mike took 1-43..
Chasing a daunting task Crusaders B lost Egan Steven Dantis early. but the 2nd wicket partnership between Nasir Dar(60) and Ashan Alwis(100 n.o) of 124 runs took Crusaders towards an exciting chase. Once Nasir was dismissed Crusaders B couldn’t cope up with the run rate and were eventually dismissed for 201 of 21 overs. Ashan Alwis tried his best to take the team over the line but ended up on the losing side. Ajay and Nushan Alwis were rewarded for their economic spells as latter ended up with 2-40 and 1-29 respectively.
