COMMITMENTS SECURE HOME WIN OVER PLAYA BLANCA
Commitments secured a 71 run victory over Playa Blanca in the latest fixture in the Lanzarote league. Blanca won the toss and put the home side into bat. The mainstream of the Commitments innings came in the shape of a 126 run partnership between Chris Smith (101) and Darren Hawkins(68) and with Paul Stenson adding 28 the hosts finished their 30 overs with a respectable 288 for 4.
Blanca made a good game of it thanks to major contributions from Charlie Cook (64) and Steve Elsdon (49) but the home sides total proved too much chasing down for Blanca and the Commitments prevailed by the 71 run margain in the end.
