La Manga Cricket Club opened their league account with an home fixture against top of the table Alicante Stars and it was the visitors who maintained their unbeaten record.
Batting first the Alicante club used their forty over allocation to full advantage and posted a score of 254 for seven against a young La Manga team.
In reply, the home side toiled hard and fought pluckily but were finally all out for 167. Paul Brimble offered stubborn resistance and frustrated the Alicante bowlers on his way to forty well earned runs.
Alicante took maximum points from the game to take them to 39 points from two games, whilst La Manga start their league account with six points.
