The England Women’s Academy has today completed a 3 day intensive strength, conditioning and fielding camp at La Manga, hosted by Sport Europe.
The Academy is made up of players just one step below the Elite England Squad and a group of 11 attended this camp which was headed by Lisa Keightley, the former Australian Test player, now employed as Head Coach by the ECB.
With days split between the field, the gym and the pool, there was not a cricket bat in sight or a ball bowled as the players embarked on a series of fielding drills, catching sessions and a high intensity fitness work alongside Chris Guest (ECB Fielding Coach) and Christian Vassallo (ECB S&C Coach).
This camp was a follow up to a recent program of fitness undertaken by the squad in Loughborough and the chance to work outdoors in the Spanish sunshine was greatly appreciated by all.
