After 36 games of frenzied T10 action in the autumnal sunshine, the stage is set for Finals Day Friday at the European Cricket Series Barcelona.
With just one loss from eight games, Pak I Care top the standings and play the opening semi-final on Friday morning against fourth-placed Badalona Shaheen. Interestingly, it was Badalona Shaheen who handed Pak I Care that solitary defeat in the group stages.
The second semi-final promises a mouthwatering derby between Catalunya CC and Catalunya Tigers, who have enjoyed some fiercely competitive duels over the years.
The semi final spots were determined by the final four group stages that took place today. Cataluyna Tigers set the day alight with a powerful nine wicket victory over Fateh. However, the man of the match went to Fateh batsman, Gurvinder Singh who cracked 71 runs from just 30 balls.
Raval Sporting then crushed the Bangladesh Kings hopes of appearing in a consecutive ECS semi final by edging a thriller by just three runs. Gurwinder Singh was the man of the match this time for Raval as he scored 56 runs in his teams 94 for six. Kings failed to handle the pressure of chasing a total and ended their innings with three wickets in hand, but just short of the required figure for victory.
Credit to the Kings for showing their professionalism and winning their final matchg in the competition by beating Fateh easily by nine wickets. Jubed Miah claimed the accolade of Man of the match for his 56 from just 24 balls.
The final game of the group stages was Minhaj v the Tigers. The Tigers continued their great form and momentum and won the game by 58 runs. Razaqat Ali hit the winning margin, 58 runs, in the Tigers total of 141 for 8. Minhaj ended on 83 for 8 to finish the tournament with a loss.
